At ICW Group, we believe that fraud prevention is not just an insurance issue—it’s a community effort. As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting our policyholders and the broader public, ICW Group recently partnered in a powerful anti-fraud media campaign that made a significant impact across Sacramento County, California.
A United Front Against Fraud
ICW Group recently joined forces with a coalition of leading insurance companies, non-profit organizations, and the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) to launch a comprehensive public awareness campaign. Our shared goal was clear: educate the public about the true cost of insurance fraud and encourage the reporting of suspicious activity.
This coalition-funded initiative included three strategically placed billboards and geo-targeted social media advertising, ensuring our message reached as many people as possible. The campaign’s timing was no coincidence—it was designed to coincide with International Fraud Awareness Week, amplifying its reach and relevance.
High-Impact Messaging, Real Results
The campaign’s message was simple yet powerful: “Who pays for insurance fraud? You do!” This direct approach reminded everyone that insurance fraud isn’t just a problem for insurance companies—it’s a challenge that affects every consumer. The billboards featured data from the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud’s landmark study, highlighting that insurance fraud costs every American consumer roughly $900 per year.
Placed in prime spots in California, combined with a robust social media presence, this campaign generated more than 15 million impressions over the eight-week campaign. The saturation approach was designed to spark awareness, foster conversation, and encourage actionable tips from the community.
Empowering Policyholders and the Public
At ICW Group, we know that fighting fraud requires vigilance and teamwork. That’s why we provide resources for our policyholders and the public to report suspected fraud. If you believe an employee has committed workers’ compensation fraud or have questions, our anti-fraud hotline (855.ICW.FRAUD / 855.429.3728) is always available. All statements are confidential and handled by our Special Investigations Unit.
For those who wish to report insurance fraud involving another carrier, the National Insurance Crime Bureau offers a convenient online resource at www.reportinsurancefraud.org.
A Lasting Commitment
ICW Group’s participation in this campaign is just one example of our unwavering dedication to anti-fraud efforts. By investing in public education and fostering partnerships across the industry, we’re working to protect our policyholders, keep costs down, and build safer communities.
Together, we can make a difference. Thank you for joining us in the fight against insurance fraud.
