ICW Group Insurance Companies Announces Safeguards for Policyholders Affected by the California Wildfires

Payment Leniency, No Cancellations for Customers Located In Impacted Regions

SAN DIEGO (September 10, 2020) — To assist residents and businesses impacted by the wildfires sweeping through California, ICW Group Insurance Companies announces today it is implementing safeguards to assist its affected policyholders.

Representing a group of property, auto and workers’ compensation insurance carriers, ICW Group is following suggestions outlined in the California Department of Insurance Notice recently released by insurance commissioner Ricardo Lara. The following safeguards have been enacted and are in effect through October 26, 2020:

  • Workers’ compensation policyholders impacted by the wildfires receive a 60-day leniency on non-payment of their premiums for any notice issued on or after August 26, 2020. Additionally, moratoriums for cancellation for non-report of payroll/non-compliance are also in effect during this 60-day period.
  • Auto and property insurance policyholders impacted by the wildfires also receive a 60-day payment grace period.

“We want to ensure our customers have peace of mind during this difficult time,” said Kevin Prior, president and CEO, ICW Group. “With widespread devastation, we understand many of our policyholders are impacted. We’re fully committed to supporting our customers and helping them get through this challenging rebuilding period.”

All impacted policyholders will be contacted directly via email to notify them of the safeguards.
