ICW Group Insurance Companies Announces Safeguards for Policyholders Affected by Hurricane Ida

Safeguards in Place for Customers in Louisiana, Connecticut

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 17, 2021) — To assist businesses impacted by Hurricane Ida, ICW Group Insurance Companies, a leading group of property and casualty carriers, announces it is implementing safeguards to assist policyholders in the impacted states, including Louisiana and Connecticut.

ICW Group is enacting the following directives as outlined by the Insurance Commissioners for the Connecticut and Louisiana insurance departments. ICW Group will monitor the aftermath of Hurricane Ida and enact additional safeguards as needed.

Currently, the safeguards include:

• Louisiana: Effective August 26, 2021, policyholders impacted by Hurricane Ida will receive a moratorium on cancellations and non-renewals. While the directive from the state is for specific parishes, ICW Group is extending this safeguard to all policyholders in the state of Louisiana. The moratorium does not apply to policies issued after August 26 and is expected to remain in effect until September 27, 2021.
• Connecticut: Effective September 2, 2021, impacted policyholders may be given an extended grace period for the payment of premium and will receive prompt processing of all claims. An expiration date has not been announced for this notice.
