ICW Group Announces $360 Million in Charitable Commitments Since 2014

Company Celebrates Milestone by Thanking its Agents and Brokers Through its GiVE Campaign to Further Inspire Compassion, Kindness and Hope

SAN DIEGO, May 17, 2018 — ICW Group Insurance Companies, a group of property and casualty carriers, announced today that ICW Group family’s charitable commitment has reached $360 million since 2014 — an amount that exceeds its underwriting gain over the same period.

ICW Group is highly committed to philanthropy. The company takes great pride in furthering the well-being of youth and children while also providing shelter and care for those in need. ICW Group’s culture of giving is rooted in its storied history and continues to this day. Earlier this year, its founder and Chairman, Ernest Rady donated $50 million to the Salvation Army, making it the third largest donation in the Salvation Army’s 153-year history.

“Giving back to our communities is fundamental to ICW Group. We believe that great cultures, combined with great partnerships, can create something magical,” said Kevin Prior, president and CEO of ICW Group. “We’re proud to support dedicated organizations both locally and nationally that work tirelessly to address the needs and well-being of others each and every day. Giving back is built into our company culture and we’re committed to working with organizations to best serve the communities our partners and Team Members call home.”

To celebrate ICW Group’s philanthropic milestone, the company offered its entire 20,000+ independent agent and broker network the opportunity to order a free shirt through the company’s GiVE Campaign. ICW Group partnered with lifestyle brand, GiVE Culture. GiVE Culture was founded by former NBA player Noel Felix and his wife Shauna Felix to promote greater selflessness in the world and inspire people to “GiVE the best of themselves and see the best in others.” Each shirt displays an inspirational messages such as “GiVE Compassion,” “GiVE Hope” and “GiVE Kindness.”

“The confidence our valued agents and brokers have in placing their clients with ICW Group is the reason behind our strong financial growth and our ability to give so generously,” said Prior. “We believe a simple gift with a powerful message was the perfect way to thank our partners for helping ICW Group give back in so many ways, while celebrating the positive impact our teamwork has made, and will continue to make on the world around us.”

ICW Group received great feedback from its agents and brokers. “While ICW Group’s recognition of our valued partnership is certainly appreciated, expressing their gratitude in a unique and genuine way was very special. Giving back, and treating each other with kindness and respect, seems more important than ever these days,” said Mary Liggan Nagaj of Gulf Shore Insurance in Naples, Florida.

As part of the GiVE Campaign, all new ICW Group Team Members will receive a choice of GiVE shirts along with similar messages of selflessness as a way of introducing them to the company’s core values of – focus, honor, passion and integrity. Team Members across the company are encouraged to give back to the communities in which they work and live through paid volunteer hours and company match donations.
